Place the metal edge of your tape measure on the floor at the bottom of the opening but inside the frame. Carefully pull up the measuring tape until you reach the top. Write down the number. The standard bifold door requires 80.75 inches.

Then take three measurements of the height of the opening — one on each side and one in the middle. Take the smallest numbers from both sets of measurements and subtract a half-inch from each to get your final width and height.
